Four-Day Weekend

You read it right... it was a 4-day weekend... at least, for Jon and me. =)

---------------

Thursday night was spent at the badminton court with fellow addicts Lon, Mauie, Aion, and of course, my hunnyhubby.

Friday morning, we were supposed to go to the market but we got up late already. So we just stayed in bed the whole morning and afternoon 'til it was time to pick up my mom from the airport. When we got there, we found out that her flight was delayed so we had some snack meanwhile at Ho Chin Ho and waited for her call there. We went straight to my old place when she arrived and we stayed and had dinner there.

We went to market Saturday a.m. I cooked sardines that morning (requested by my mother-in-law) and again, cooked pancit molo for dinner. (Check out my other blog for the recipes).

We were supposed to go to Makati that afternoon but we got too lazy and just lounged around the house the entire day.

We went out at about 8pm to buy some of our baon at the grocery. I started to pack our things for our family outing the next day while Jon took care of the dead battery of the car we will be using (thankfully, we discovered it earlier).

Sunday morning, we were off to Clark, Pampanga for our family outing at Fontana Leisure Parks. We had an early lunch at Shakeys Dau and arrived at Fontana at a little past noon. We had two villas -5 bedrooms all. There was only one villa available by the time we checked in (it was a little early), so we had to wait for a few more minutes before we could settle in our rooms. When everything was in order, we excitedly proceeded to the water park. Man! The place was huge. There was the wave pool (our fave), the giant slides, lazy river, pirate's ship (for kids), and the water factory. Of course, we tried them all!!! It was soooo much fun! ...i think we had even more fun than the kids did... hahah! :D

Fontana pics here.

We got back to our villa just before dark (the water park closes at 6pm). We all had dinner at one place and afterwards, watched a movie. We (the adults) were supposed to go to the casino but for some reason, the plan did not push through. Instead, someone started to tell ghost stories and I had to cover my ears and sing out loud the whole time. Then it was time for bed.

The following morning, we got up early, had breakfast, and everyone jogged/walked around the place. The black crows we saw flying around reminded me of Singapore where we saw crows everywhere... parang mga maya lang dito sa'ten... I had some bonding moments with my family when we got back.

We had lunch before checking out and then it was, goodbye, Fontana! Before heading home though, we went to a Duty Free shop and... yeah, shopped. ;p And there, i was able to use my credit card for the first time... (My credit card arrived Friday morning - yay!)

And then we were off to NLEX. After a while, i received a text msg from my sister saying that my kuya got dizzy and had to stop driving for a while. Since we were already kilometers away and we just couldn't turn around and go back, we decided to just wait for them at the first gasoline station we saw. I received a txt from my sis again and she said that they were being escorted by two traffic policemen and they were on the way (parang celebrity/VIP!). We had some ice cream (tried out their new product - the KING CONE) at McDo while waiting.

...When at last my brother-in-law was okay, we were on the road again. After paying the unbelievable toll fee of P203, we saw a rally a few meters after the toll gates. At first, they were only at the right side of the expressway, but little by little, they were going to the center and before we realized it, they were already blocking the entire road!!! Fortunately, we were able to pass thru the dirt road and we were hoping that my kuya could pass too but before long, the rally was able to block it off too!!! We just stopped in the middle of the road (sarap sana mag-drive!) and waited for them. It took about 20 minutes before the police officers came and when the rallyists knew of this, they all went inside their rides, but still blocking off the road. Luckily, my bro-in-law's crv was just in front and he found a way out and was able to drive away at last! Whew!

(my bro-in-law's crv was just behind the bus in the middle)

Okay sana yung pinaglalaban nila, ...i mean, we're all for the toll fee rollback, pero sana not to the expense of the people, ginalit nila yung mga tao dun eh..! And we found out later on that they did it also on the other side of the expressway!!! Monstrous traffic, grabe!

Anyway, we were able to go home safe after that without any more hassle. Home sweet home!
