Congratulations!

This goes out to my dear sister who graduated from college yesterday. =) She was supposed to be cum laude if not for the 2.0 grade in typing during her freshman year (which i think, is very unfair :( ). But despite this, we're still very happy for her outstanding achievement.

Congrats, dear sistah! *mwah* We're all soooo very proud of you!!! I wish u a rockin' career and a bright future ahead!!! I know you'll make it BIG! Cheers!

Super SULIT Meal - a commercial =)

..I just got back from a lunch-out with Jon and i just had to blog about Jollibee's new meal. Well, actually, it's not NEW per se, but just a food combination from their old products which creates this SUPER meal. The meal can be a choice of 1pc burger steak, chicken strips, or 1pc chickenjoy; your choice of spaghetti or palabok; rice; corn and carrots; and fruit salad which is priced between 80-100 bucks. And for an additional 10 pesos, u get a regular drink! That's just SUPAH, ryt?! ;) We just Labbbbeeeet!!! :D

One meal to rule them all... =)

A Break from the Routine

Friday.

Back to badminton!

Went to the grocery after work Friday afternoon with Jon and immediately after, we met up with Aion, Lon and Mauie for a 2-hour badminton session. We've been "missing in action" for a little over two weeks already and my body was really craving for exercise again. ...And it was a great workout! Whew!

After badminton, we went home for dinner and a quick shower and prepared for our scheduled DVD and videoke night - with the same people plus Gina. They arrived at 10pm, bringing with them isaw, chips, popcorn and soda and we watched the hilarious Zoolander again. I watched the movie countless times already but still never fails to make me laugh. :D

After the movie, Jon n I gave them our pasalubongs (HK t-shirts for the men and chopsticks for the ladies) and we're glad that it was really appreciated. =)

Then, it was time for videoke... We've been planning to go to RedBox for months already - but it hasn't materialized yet so as practice for that, we sang the night (and the morning) away using Gina's MagicSing! Sarap kumanta! :D ...We even had a boys versus girls game and although in the end, it was hard to keep score already, i think it was the boys who won, thanks to Aion's score of 99 in his makabagbagdamdaming rendition of Three Blind Mice and ABC!!! bwarharharhar!!! :p

As always, it was such a blast that we lost track of time. The next time we knew, it was 4:30 am already! Mauulit ito! =) (more pics here).

Saturday.

I was awaken by the sound of my phone ringing. 10:35 am. Alveen calling.

He called to ask me for contact numbers of a good resort to stay in for their family outing on April. What d hell does he think i am? The internet? Or a travel agency? (Just kidding, vin - i know you'll read this... heheh).

After our phone conversation, I crawled back into bed beside my hubby but couldn't quite go back to dreamland so i got up already (woke Jon up, too) and prepared for lunch.

Called up my homies and i learned that they were going to Southmall and since I needed to buy eyeglasses (i left my old one at Shenzhen --- long story), Jon n i decided to go with them. We left at 2pm and finished doing our stuff at about 6pm. Stayed at my old place for a while and went home at around 7pm. Had takeout dinner from Max's and retired early for the evening.

Sunday.

Wash day. I spent the morning doing the laundry (Manang, the one who washes clothes for us was on-leave... heheh) while Jon washed the car. I was cooking sinigang na baka at the same time and fortunately, i was a competent multitasker so it was just a breeze. =)

Took a nap after lunch while Jon watched the boxing match between Pacquiao and Morales. I was watching the fight at first but the more i watch, the more i couldn't breathe and the excitement just became too much for me. I slept for more than an hour and when i woke up it was the 11th round. When i asked how Pacquiao was faring, Jon answered sadly, "parang talo eh". And Pacquiao lost all right. :( It was sad but just as every Filipino must be feeling right now, he may have lost, but he's still the champ in our hearts... heheh.

We went to Southmall again to pick up my new eyeglasses. I wanted to do some shopping pa but we had to hurry coz we were attending the 7pm mass at Philam so we just ordered takeout at KFC and ate in the car. We bought palm branches on the way to the church.

After the mass, we went grocery shopping again (we were not able to go to the market last Saturday eh). And then, we went to my old place again to give the toys i bought to my two pamangkins (who were staying the night there). Although we gave them just cheap toys, the smile and the kisses we got back from them were priceless! Ah, kids! They are just sooo easy to please! I wish we could all be like them...

~~~
The past weekends were spent either out of town or out of the country and this was a welcome break for both Jon and me... ...but who said i'm tired of vacationing? Hahah... i'll be back at the beach this Thurs. Ahhhhh!!! Boraaaaahhhh!!! Can't wait to see u again! =)
Back from (yet another) vacay...
I sooooo missed blogging!!! It's been more than a week since my last post and it's about time i update... so, here goes...!
~~~

...last week, i busied myself making the layout of my hubby's blog (watch out for it!), and doing some research on the places we were to visit - Hongkong and Shenzhen,China. In addition to that, i got occupied by compiling a list of things about me - which would be in a later post, by the way.

Friday night, Jon and I, together with my MIL, went to Pan Pac for the awarding ceremonies of the Insurance Company they were representing. For the third consecutive year, they are getting an award for being the top insurance agency with the highest production in the bonds department. So proud of them! And the trip was an incentive. =) We also learned that the trip for next year is going to be in KL, Malaysia... hmmmm....

We left very early Saturday morning for our 8am flight. And... well... i'll let the pictures do the kwento na from here... enjoy!

i had the best time at Balai - great food, great conversations, great company. We ate, slept, laughed, gone swimming and kayaking, buried our boys in sand, played beach volleyball, ate again, had a bonfire, drank tequila, talked about everything, shared secrets *wink*, learned about ourselves (i got so touched about some things - but more on that later...), reflected (parang retreat noh? :D ), ate again, slept again, read books and mags, played cards, had uling drawn on our faces (at least for some...heheh -yabang!), gone swimming and wave watching, girl talked and boy talked, took pictures and basically had a great time! Everyone was bitin that we had to go home so soon... i'm hopin' we'd do this again SOON... =)

Four-Day Weekend

You read it right... it was a 4-day weekend... at least, for Jon and me. =)

---------------

Thursday night was spent at the badminton court with fellow addicts Lon, Mauie, Aion, and of course, my hunnyhubby.

Friday morning, we were supposed to go to the market but we got up late already. So we just stayed in bed the whole morning and afternoon 'til it was time to pick up my mom from the airport. When we got there, we found out that her flight was delayed so we had some snack meanwhile at Ho Chin Ho and waited for her call there. We went straight to my old place when she arrived and we stayed and had dinner there.

We went to market Saturday a.m. I cooked sardines that morning (requested by my mother-in-law) and again, cooked pancit molo for dinner. (Check out my other blog for the recipes).

We were supposed to go to Makati that afternoon but we got too lazy and just lounged around the house the entire day.

We went out at about 8pm to buy some of our baon at the grocery. I started to pack our things for our family outing the next day while Jon took care of the dead battery of the car we will be using (thankfully, we discovered it earlier).

Sunday morning, we were off to Clark, Pampanga for our family outing at Fontana Leisure Parks. We had an early lunch at Shakeys Dau and arrived at Fontana at a little past noon. We had two villas -5 bedrooms all. There was only one villa available by the time we checked in (it was a little early), so we had to wait for a few more minutes before we could settle in our rooms. When everything was in order, we excitedly proceeded to the water park. Man! The place was huge. There was the wave pool (our fave), the giant slides, lazy river, pirate's ship (for kids), and the water factory. Of course, we tried them all!!! It was soooo much fun! ...i think we had even more fun than the kids did... hahah! :D

Fontana pics here.

We got back to our villa just before dark (the water park closes at 6pm). We all had dinner at one place and afterwards, watched a movie. We (the adults) were supposed to go to the casino but for some reason, the plan did not push through. Instead, someone started to tell ghost stories and I had to cover my ears and sing out loud the whole time. Then it was time for bed.

The following morning, we got up early, had breakfast, and everyone jogged/walked around the place. The black crows we saw flying around reminded me of Singapore where we saw crows everywhere... parang mga maya lang dito sa'ten... I had some bonding moments with my family when we got back.

We had lunch before checking out and then it was, goodbye, Fontana! Before heading home though, we went to a Duty Free shop and... yeah, shopped. ;p And there, i was able to use my credit card for the first time... (My credit card arrived Friday morning - yay!)

And then we were off to NLEX. After a while, i received a text msg from my sister saying that my kuya got dizzy and had to stop driving for a while. Since we were already kilometers away and we just couldn't turn around and go back, we decided to just wait for them at the first gasoline station we saw. I received a txt from my sis again and she said that they were being escorted by two traffic policemen and they were on the way (parang celebrity/VIP!). We had some ice cream (tried out their new product - the KING CONE) at McDo while waiting.

...When at last my brother-in-law was okay, we were on the road again. After paying the unbelievable toll fee of P203, we saw a rally a few meters after the toll gates. At first, they were only at the right side of the expressway, but little by little, they were going to the center and before we realized it, they were already blocking the entire road!!! Fortunately, we were able to pass thru the dirt road and we were hoping that my kuya could pass too but before long, the rally was able to block it off too!!! We just stopped in the middle of the road (sarap sana mag-drive!) and waited for them. It took about 20 minutes before the police officers came and when the rallyists knew of this, they all went inside their rides, but still blocking off the road. Luckily, my bro-in-law's crv was just in front and he found a way out and was able to drive away at last! Whew!

(my bro-in-law's crv was just behind the bus in the middle)

Okay sana yung pinaglalaban nila, ...i mean, we're all for the toll fee rollback, pero sana not to the expense of the people, ginalit nila yung mga tao dun eh..! And we found out later on that they did it also on the other side of the expressway!!! Monstrous traffic, grabe!

Anyway, we were able to go home safe after that without any more hassle. Home sweet home!
